"Beauty out of brokenness"
The symbolism in the image today has, and continues to help me immeasurably in my own recovery and I hope it will therefore help others who are struggling.
The image is of a heart broken into many jagged pieces and glued back together with gold. I know what it is to feel broken, I cannot know what you may be going through or what your personal experiences may be. But in my own ongoing journey I have found that it is very hard to see past the trauma at the time but with the right support and help gradually some of those pieces are glued back into place, it's only when you look back you can see a glimmer of what is forming. A broken pot glued with gold never looks like the original pot again but that is part of it's beauty. When we have been in a dark place we can reflect onto others in a dark place and share our nuggets of understanding and knowledge with them, or just hold a hand so they don't feel alone. For me it is a sense of purpose through what I have suffered. I believe however broken the pot it can still be tenderly, gently and slowly restored, there is always hope.
"Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, repairing broken pots with gold. The finished object is more precious and beautiful than a pot that has never been broken. Out of our brokenness comes inner beauty."
"He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds" Psalm 147:3

Thanks Rachel.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then it may encourage us to remember that the beholder whose opinion matters most is God and He loves us.
