"Onwards" Butterfly

Todays image is also one of my newest ones. Titled "Onwards", it is an image of a butterfly in flight. I find a butterfly and the symbolism of transformation from one thing that isn't particularly beautiful, into a delicate, beautiful butterfly truely inspiring. I know in my own recovery it can be very difficult to see that change because it is a slow process, but as we live out and work out our own personal recovery journey sure enough that change does take place within us. We need to remember the place we have come from, and not feel we have failed when we have times of slipping back because that is part of the process. If it were easy to change we would all have done it long ago. The important thing is we keep on looking forwards and not back.
"Keep moving onwards. Once the butterfly emerges from it's cocoon it keeps moving forwards, it doesn't look back and try to become a caterpillar again. Often in recovery we are tempted to look back or we slip back, but even when that happens we can start again and gradually as our wings strengthen it becomes our new way of being."
We all need encouragement, keep going you can do it! It doesn't matter how many times you fall, its how quickly you get up again.
